The Vigilance Committee of 1856 - By a California Pioneer Journalist - James O'Meara | |
Introduction: | |
Another early James H. Barry Publication. The writer describes the 1856 Vigilance Committee from the perspective of one who did not agree with them. The vigilantes briefly controlled the politics of California for a time. The writing is rough, and the editing was crude. The James H. Barry press did not improve it's editing abilities until later publications. This is my 19th Project Guttenberg title.
