Mrs. Edith Woodman Burroughs' "Fountain of Youth." The figure of the girl is designed with great simplicity and beauty. Behind are the emblems of the Eagle and the Laurel, suggesting nationality and service. The panels at either side represent the older generations on the voyage of life, rowed by the younger people. The attitude and faces of the older figures indicate that they are looking toward the beauty and happiness of their lost youth. |
