Starr King in California by William Day Simonds | |
Introduction: | |
This is a biography of Thomas Starr King, a preacher who moved from Boston to San Francisco during the Civil War period. When the Civil War started California was mostly populated with Confederate sympathizers. About a third a Californian's supported the Union. Starr King converted California to the Union cause. This is my 18th Project Guttenberg title. |
